Daze

Chris “Daze” Ellis is a prominent American artist celebrated for his significant impact on the street art and graffiti movements. Born in Brooklyn in 1962, Daze became a key figure in the nascent graffiti scene of New York City during the 1970s, later evolving his practice to include studio work. His vibrant artworks are characterized by a masterful integration of graffiti and fine art techniques, showcasing bold colors, dynamic brushwork, and a distinctive combination of lettering and figurative forms. Daze's work has garnered international acclaim, with exhibitions held at prestigious venues such as the Museum of the City of New York and the Musée d’Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain in Nice, France. In addition to his artistic practice, Ellis is actively involved in community art projects, mural commissions, and educational programs.
