Kate Garner

Kate Garner gained significant public recognition as a member of the avant-garde, new wave pop group Haysi Fantayzee during the 1980s, alongside fellow artists Jeremy Healy and Paul Caplin. Emerging from the vibrant street art movements, particularly the Blitz Kids in London during the early 1980s, Haysi Fantayzee's music uniquely fused elements of reggae, country, and electronic sounds, all while delivering politically and socially charged lyrics framed in the style of nursery rhymes. Subsequently, Garner shifted her focus back to the visual arts, including painting, photography, and video, establishing a successful career in media arts. This transition was marked by her collaboration with Sinéad O’Connor, where she produced iconic imagery for O’Connor's 1987 debut album, The Lion and the Cobra. She is also well-known for her photos of a then-14 year old Kate Moss.
