Summer Wine Auction July 1st

Our summer wine sale contains a wide range of fine wines for both the collector and drinker. The highlight is undoubtedly the eighteen bottles of the legendary 1978 Hermitage La Chapelle. The wines were purchased on release by the owner's father and have been cellared superbly since then, something that is apparent by the condition of the bottles. The bottles are offered in two lots: lot 101 is 12 bottles with an estimate of £6500-7500, while lot 102 is for 6 bottles with an estimate of £3000-3600

Claret is well represented with my favourites being 1996 Chateau Margaux (lot 37, 4 bottles £1800-2200), 2000 Chateau Lynch Bages (lot 57, £750-950) and 1982 Chateau Gruaud Larose (lot 29, £900-1000) amongst others. Lovers of other French regions will not be disappointed though as we also are offering a wide range of wines from Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone Valley including Krug 2002 (lot 119,3 bottles £480-600), 2004 Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Alexandra Rose (lot 133, 6 bottles £650-850) and 2006 Vosne-Romanee Les Chames from the excellet Domaine Meo-Camuzet (4 bottles, £320-400)

Outside of Europe, we have an interesting selection of American wines including the 2011 and 2012 of Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello (lots 174-176) and Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon in magnum (lot 176).

The sale concludes with a small selection of spirits including a remarkable bottle of Cognac from 1830 bottled by the Bordeaux wine merchant Caves de Chapon - a unique opportunity to buyers to purchase an almost 200 year old spirit!

The sale takes place in Shoreditch on July 1st at 2pm. If you are unable to join us in person, you can bid live online on our website as well as leaving commision bids or bidding by phone

Happy Bidding!
