Bridget Riley's intricate geometric abstractions were pivotal to the Op Art movement of the 1960s. The British artist created vibrant shapes that produced illusions of vibration and motion, defining "Op Art." Although she began with some monochromatic works, she is best known for her colorful compositions. Riley studied at Goldsmiths' College and the Royal College of Art, and briefly worked in advertising before fully committing to art. Her works have been exhibited in major cities worldwide and are held in prestigious collections, including the Arts Council England, Centre Pompidou, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with her pieces fetching high prices in the secondary market.
