Duncan McCormick

Duncan McCormick creates cheerful art inspired by daydreams, evoking memories of childhood vacations and idyllic landscapes. He uses fast-drying acrylics, applying paint quickly to capture spontaneity and vibrant colors that reflect his response to the Covid pandemic. After moving from London to Shropshire, he transitioned from complex narratives to simpler, escapist scenes. Born in Birmingham in 1977, McCormick studied at Hallfield Preparatory School and Ellesmere College, later earning a degree in art and drama from St Martin’s College. Initially pursuing theatre, he became a professional printmaker, with works in prestigious collections, including a 2018 commission from Morgan Stanley for 11 paintings, and has attracted international auction bidders.
