This bottle is part of a consignment of half-bottles of Champagne bottled to commemorate the end of the Golden Guinea coin. The consignment was lost in the English Channel when the French freighter the Seine sank in a storm on July 16th 1955. This bottle was one of bottles that was recovered from the wreck in 2004.
