Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama enchants global audiences with her "Infinity Mirror Rooms" and unique style of light, polka dots, and pumpkins. Gaining fame in the 1960s New York art scene, she created provocative Happenings and captivating "Infinity Nets" paintings. Her influence shaped feminist and Pop art, impacting artists like Andy Warhol. Kusama's work has been showcased in major institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art and Tate Modern, and she represented Japan at the 1993 Venice Biennale. Her artworks often sell for seven figures, reflecting her exploration of themes like obsessive-compulsive disorder, sexuality, and perception. Since 1977, she has lived in a Tokyo psychiatric hospital.
