Adam Parker Smith notes that many of his ideas begin as jokes, reflecting his fears, desires, and obsessions, though he also draws inspiration from peers. He works in various mediums, including sculpture, video, and a blend of animated and static painting with mechanized elements, and enjoys collaboration. His most notable work, Thanks (2013), is an installation of items secretly collected from 77 artists during studio visits, including sketchbooks and tools, presented with his confession and the artists' approval.
