Modern British & Irish Art

Dedicated sales are held three times a year at our venue in East London.

The Modern British & Irish Art department offers paintings, sculpture and works on paper by some of the leading artists of the 20th century, such as Peter Blake, Bridget Riley, Lucian Freud, Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth and L. S. Lowry. Ranging from early British Modernism to the present day, the category includes British Pop Art, Cornish Abstraction, the School of London, Vorticism and the Camden Town Group.

Modern British and Irish art is a firm favourite among both new and established collectors. Tate Ward are keen to showcase this exciting category of the art market to all our clients and thus in addition to our auctions we will host exhibitions and events around East London to introduce new and highlight previously overlooked artists. 

Watch out for some sculptures among the paintings and drawings as these can often be the most decorative and sought-after lots of the sale.
