Fern

Fern is a London-based British painter celebrated for her bold, text-driven works that fuse pin-up inspired portraiture with contemporary social commentary. Drawing influence from mid-century publishing design, her ongoing Book Series nods to artists like Harland Miller and The Connor Brothers. Combining strong blocks of colour and stylised figures to explore themes of femininity, gender, and cultural perception.
Her paintings blend sharp wit with moments of vulnerability, offering a distinctly female voice that navigates both empowerment and introspection. This balance of humour and honesty — paired with her signature use of text and imagery — has become a defining thread throughout her practice, offering insight into both her inner world and wider cultural narratives.
Fern is currently preparing for her debut solo exhibition at Yield Gallery, who have exclusively represented her for the past three years. As her practice continues to evolve in both form and focus, she has established herself as a dynamic voice in the emerging contemporary art scene.
