I started my working life in the banking industry with a French merchant bank in the West End of London.

Having worked in banking for three years I decided banking wasn't for me so I took a two year career break to see the world. Having spent all my savings and feeling it was time to head back to Blighty I said goodbye to backpacking and headed home.

On returning to the UK, my first proper job was at Christie's, King Street. I instantly fell in love with art and the auction industry therefore I spent the next 22 years working at Christie's in various roles from the Finance department to working with the specialist departments. I was appointed Director, Christie's UK in 2006 whilst working as the European Business Manager in the Wine department. Over the years I managed across a whole range of departments from Arms and Armour and Wine to Contemporary and Post-War Art. I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of working alongside some of the best specialists and art professionals in the world. After leaving Christie's, I spent a year working as the Business Development Director for a West London auction house. The commute from Essex to West London was much tougher than anticipated, so after meeting Danny and attending lots of art fairs and exhibitions together Tate Ward Auctions was born and here we are today in East London.

I've been involved in many auctions and art events over the years and would like Tate Ward to be a place that clients from all walks of life can meet and enjoy art. This means everyone, not just our buyers and sellers, but all lovers of art are welcome to come to our free views and events and enjoy the fantastic works of art that we will have on display.

My hobbies are football, rugby, tennis, walking my Great Dane (who has been known to make an appearance in the TW office) and spending time with my wife and three sons.

"Interaction not just transaction" which encapsulates the concept I wish to develop at Tate Ward.
