I am a Master's-educated art historian and private sales specialist with over a decade's experience at the intersection of the academic and commercial art worlds. My approach is anchored in a deep passion for meaning and artistry across history, from our earliest traces of visual culture to the catalysts of modernity and the post-war period. This background informs every aspect of my work, from the custodianship of provenance and condition to contextualising a piece's place in the wider story of art history.
At Tate Ward I head the Impressionist and Modern Art department, where my specialism lies in the 20th-century and modern masters, across Impressionist, modern, and post-war works. I am passionate about works of genuine cultural and historical importance, and about the artists who reshaped the Western canon and the trajectory of artistic expression. I further specialise in private sales, working directly with collectors and vendors on consignment, sales, and discreet private transactions.
